Strongly recommend against any tattoo having '88' in it. '88' is/was a big theme in tattoos for white power where each 8 stands for the 8th letter of the alphabet which translates to 'HH' or 'Heil Hitler' in white supremacist groups.
Unless you are ok with being perceived the wrong way, AA is a better bet in that standpoint

Didn't even think about it - especially with my bald head and pasty-white skin, people will get the wrong idea about me (a VERY wrong idea since I had a friend who once looked at me almost mouth agape and remarked, 'You are REALLY not a racist person.' He forgets, of course, that I tend to hate everyone equally.)
What if the 8s are split into two separate hands like two mystery cards as I described above? As if to make it more clear that they're actual blackjack hands and not a representation of admiring a total whack job?

Hey guys, first post here. Ive been lurking for a lil while and I'm a big fan of WoO. I really enjoy small stakes recreational gambling and want to get a funny/dumb/witty small blackjack tattoo. So far my ideas are a 6 and a 5 (haven't decided suit) with the words 'Double Your Pleasure'; a pair of eights or aces with 'Split Me Baby, One More Time'; or some stiff hand with 'I'd Hit That'. The last one is my least favorite. Any thoughts?

A line that I hear a lot of players say is, 'stay and pray.'
Maybe a hand like 2,3 or something bizarrely incorrect to stand on with the caption 'Stay and Pray'

I think you'd be fine if the if the cards were seperated enough. My thoughts are that if you have two 8 cards next to one another (implying split or something of the like) that it may convey a different message to those who don't know much about blackjack and be more of a white supremacy and could imply that you gamble with your life or something of the sort. You should be fine separating them, especially if there are more than just those two cards involved. Just my two cents.. I could be completely paranoid about this whole thing, but i look at it from the standpoint that if you get a tattoo that is normally publically visible, there will be hundreds of thousands of people that see it every year and all it takes is 1 or 2 to take it the wrong way and it'll really wreck your day/year. Like i said though.. I'm probably just paranoid

If I were going with the 2, 3, my tagline world read, 'I also like to live dangerously.'

Thanks for the input. BIG thanks for the advice on the white supremacy thing haha. I know what I enjoy and my sense of humor so I'm not too worried about regretting it, and it will definitely be in a place that could be covered up for a job interview ('Hey lets trust that guy with a blackjack hand tattooed on his wrist with our accounts. Seems like a reliable fella.') For what its worth I'm think about a pair of dice showing 6 and 5 with 'Get to the point, yo!' on the opposite side of my body from the blackjack one. Like that idea better honestly. Just bouncing stuff off the wall here, might not even do it. Getting my first tattoo in 2 weeks for a friend that passed away, and I'm already feeling the ink addiction. Want some small witty ones to go with the medium sad one

Just go ahead and get 'MIT Card Counting Team' tattooed across your forearm. Every time you signal hit or stand it will be visible. :)

simple. 12 against a 3 with an 'I'd hit that' below it.
